The FW17 SPEAKEASY collection draws inspiration from the roaring Twenties, the Prohibition era and the American speakeasy, the places were alcoholic beverages were illicitly sold. The collection starts from a stylistic rule, that’s the bar counter which separates and unites two men: the bartender who tells stories, aphorisms
and mottos while making drinks and the man who listens to him while drinking. These two could wear the same clothes and it’s no coincidence that each outfit has a matching cocktail of that time. The menswear is a Great Gatsby inspired combination of elegance while the fabrics are influenced by an English style of tweed,
glen plaid, herringbone and checked patterns. The baggy pants combined with a cotton tee employing a distressed effect, a genuine leather blazer or a rider and a driver charcoal hat, on the contrary, give a gritty and urban look making the classy a tramp, a shabby chic man who became the symbol of the ‘20s.
